If you are going to play, you need to be committedIf you register for the Tri-boro Titans, please be committed to your team. It is important to us that you take your involvement in the league seriously:
Season length: The girls program will include one or more teams (depending on the number of players who register). They will play an 8 to 10 game season against teams from surrounding communities. Our home games are currently planned for the Willett Elementary School field in Attleboro or the WWI Memorial Field in North Attleboro. Game philosophy:MBYLL is a non-competitive league. While the girls from each town do their utmost to win games, standings are not tallied by the league. All team players will play in each game. However, it is important that parents and team members realize that though we try to make sure that all players get plenty of time to play in each game, playing time may not be exactly equal for all games. Our goal is for all players to learn and have fun, but we also realize that the girls have a competitive spirit and would like to win sometimes when they play. This sport is new to this area, the age range of our players may vary widely, the number of subs we have for games may differ, and we have found that the skill level of some players may not be as strong as others during the course of the season because some players have played before and others have not (the more they practice catching and throwing, the better they will be). Coaches, therefore, may use some discretion when positioning players (some players just don't like to run as much as others) or allocating playing time during close games. In addition, with 12 players on the field at one time, it is difficult to juggle player substitutions (which are only allowed under certain circumstances), keep track of the time players have been on the field, and simultaneously try to coach those who are playing in the game. Though it may get a bit hectic for us on the sidelines, please know that we are doing are best to juggle everybody and to ensure that all children have a rewarding experience and truly enjoy the season. Note: At the end of each season, the girls will participate in one or more jamborees. |
